FRB131104 Swift/BAT Data Revisited: No Evidence of a Gamma-Ray Counterpart

چکیده
We present a reanalysis of the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) data around radio detection FRB 131104. Possible evidence gamma-ray counterpart was presented by DeLaunay et al. However, based on our analysis using all available BAT data, no significant emission is found in either temporal or image domain. place 5σ fluence upper limit 3.3 × 10−6 erg cm−2 and 2.7 (15–150 keV) with an integration time 300 s assuming simple power-law spectrum photon index −1.2 −2.0, respectively. Our result does not support association this high-energy counterpart, agreement growing observational that most FRBs are associated catastrophic events such as bursts.

No Evidence of Time Dilation in Gamma-Ray Burst Data
Gamma-Ray Bursts have been observed out to very high redshifts and provide time measures that are directly related to intrinsic time scales of the burst. Einstein’s theory of relativity is quite definite that if the universe is expanding then the observed duration of these measures will increase with redshift. Thus gamma-ray burst measures should show a time dilation proportional to redshift. A...
متن کاملNo Evidence for Gamma-Ray Burst/Abell Cluster or Gamma- Ray Burst/Radio-Quiet Quasar Correlations
We examine the recent claims that cosmic gamma-ray bursts are associated with either radio-quiet quasars or Abell clusters. These associations were based on positional coincidences between cataloged quasars or Abell clusters, and selected events from the BATSE 3B catalog of gamma-ray bursts. We use a larger sample of gamma-ray bursts with more accurate positions, obtained by the 3rd Interplanet...
متن کاملHigh Efficiency of Gamma-Ray Bursts Revisited
Using the conservation of energy and momentum during collisions of any two shells, we consider the efficiency of gamma-ray bursts by assuming that the ejecta from the central engine are equally massive and have the same Lorentz factors. We calculate the efficiency and the final Lorentz factor of the merged whole shell for different initial diversities of Lorentz factors and for different micros...
متن کاملThe Coma Cluster hard X - ray spectrum revisited : still no evidence for a hard tail
In this note, we reply to Fusco-Femiano et al. 2004 (FF04) and Fusco-Femiano et al. 2006 (FF06), who cast doubts on our analysis of the PDS observations of the Coma Cluster which we describe in Rossetti & Molendi 2004 (RM04). We discuss the main issues in FF06 and we confirm that the available data do not allow to firmly establish the presence of a non-thermal component in the hard X-ray spectr...
متن کاملA Search for the Radio Counterpart of the Unidentified Gamma-ray Source 3EG J1410-6147
We have made radio continuum, H I and X-ray observations in the direction of the unidentified EGRET source 3EG J1410–6147, using the Australia Telescope Compact Array and the Chandra X-ray Observatory. The observations encompass the supernova remnant (SNR) G312.4–0.4 and the two young pulsars PSRs J1412–6145 and J1413–6141. We derive a lower distance limit of 6 kpc to the SNR, although interpre...
